Thwarted theft

Fortunately the landlord’s son caught them in the act and they dropped three of them and made off with one. We have been blessed with a landlord who is the retired police chief of Brooke's Point. He handled things and they caught the guys and retrieved our missing spring. They asked me if I wanted to press charges but I figured things would be best left as is so I prayed with the thief and left it in God’s hands to punish him.

I decided I had better get the trailer put together but I had no place to work on it so the Lord intervened again and our landlord offered an open shed to assemble the trailer in. I have been spending time putting it together so we don't have any parts lying around anymore.

img_7893The helicopter is up and flying nicely again and we have been working some with Philippine Frontier Missions. I flew the director down to a project on Balabac Island, which is the last island before you get into Malaysia.

An hour flight saved him a day’s travel. The flight down was absolutely breathtaking. There are small islands and shallow reefs everywhere and the colors are beautiful. We were flying along at about 500 feet off the water when I looked down and saw around 20 sea turtles. I dropped down to about a 100 feet and made a circle to take a closer look. The turtles were huge! The largest one's shell was at least 6 feet long. God is truly an amazing creator.

A week later I flew another PFM missionary from Balabac to another project up north of us. It was a two-hour flight for us--normally it takes him 2 day’s travel by land. The flights I have done for PFM are opening more doors for us to assist their medical work. God continues to open up more work for the helicopter.

David and Tammy Agulair left last week to return to the States and the Georges have been gone also. Wendy has been left running the clinic and project by herself again. This last week I had to leave her up in the mountains all by herself while I left the country because of my visa. I flew commercially down to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. I spent the night and flew back the next day and then returned to Palawan.

The Toyota truck we got is working great and we are very happy with it so far. I ask for your continued prayers for the development of a base for us to work out of in the low lands. Things seem to be opening up for the purchase of land that is in an ideal location in proximity to Brooke's Point. The approximate cost will be $10,000. I thank you all for your continued prayers and support for these needs in God's work among the tribal people of the Philippines.

As I see the world events unfolding before us (global food shortage, global economic collapse, etc.) it is becoming clear that we have very little time left to prepare ourselves and those around us for Christ's second coming.

The only thing that is going to get us through the coming time of trouble is our close personal relationship with God. We of ourselves have no hope of having the strength to make it through the times that are coming. It is only through the Holy Spirit and Christ's abiding presence in us that we can stand to the end.

I pray that all of you will be sincerely searching yourselves, studying the bible, praying and seeking a personal walk with God that carries you daily and moment by moment through life, each person's eternal salvation depends on it.
